New Year’s Eve Disco Ball Photo Shoot

For the last few years, New Year’s Eve disco ball photo shoots has been a huge trend in the portrait photography business. Last year I decided to join in on the fun and bought FIVE disco balls from Amazon of various sizes and photographed my senior model team, Class of 2023 (SO.MUCH.FUN.). I had the opportunity to use them again this year for Paige’s New Year’s session. Here’s how it all came together:

I rented a studio space in Excelsior, MN

I chose Thunder Grey seamless backdrop paper (can also be found at Amazon),

Equipment used: Canon EOS 5D, Mark III, Canon 70-200mm, Canon 24-70mm, Godox trigger/transmitter, Godox AD600 with diffuser for the main light, and the Canon 600EX II as a the hair light.

We decided to mix it up and go both casual and glam-I just love it!
